This course is designed to educate healthcare professionals on how, when, and why to report safety concerns to The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), including legal protections, ethical obligations, and step-by-step procedures.

Describe the role of The Joint Commission and CARF in healthcare accreditation and safety oversight.

Identify common types of safety concerns and sentinel events appropriate for reporting.

Explain the procedures and requirements for submitting a report to The Joint Commission and CARF.
